• FUND RAISING EVENT - We held our first Family Quiz Night on Saturday 3 May and raised over £600.00 - see new pictures under Gymnasts

NEW BEAM!

As a result of various fund raising activities during 2007 we have been able to purchase a new beam from Gymnova together fold-away matting and extra landing mats.

A special thank you to all the parents who regularly help setting up and dismantling the equipment your help is very much appreciated.

The Award goes to two gymnasts this month - Freya Phillips and Alanah Coley for their hard work and determination.

At the REGIONAL AWARDS CEREMONY held on Sunday 14 October Melanie Warner, Mark Simpson, Veronique Lamb and Erin Simpson (pictured below) received their Long Service Coach Awards

WELL DONE to all our gymnasts who competed in the West Midlands Regional Championships on Saturday & Sunday 29th & 30th September. We had some very pleasing Results in all Levels, especially from Freya Phillips who came 2nd in Level 4 in her age category. Alison Buchanan came 5th, Jessica Wevill 6th, Hannah Bond 7th and Sam Deakin 8th (in various age categories of Level 3). We are also very proud of Georgina Mynott who competed at FIG (Juniors) and came 8th. We were only able to enter one team (Level 3) in this year's Regional Team Championships on 21 October and although the team did not have a great day, Jessica Wevill performed extremely well with an excellent beam result (3rd) and came 5th overall!

CONGRATULATIONS to Patrick Sarson on passing his Assistant Coach (WA) exam on Sunday 16 Septmeber. Well done Pat - you will be an asset to the Club!

The Regional Apparatus Competition was held on Sunday 9 September and both our Level 4 and Level 3 Teams came away with bronze medals! Well Done to Alison Buchanan, Jessica Bayliss, Jessica Wevill and Hannah Bond (Level 3 Team) and Freya Phillips, Ellie Sarson, Katie Griffiths and Alanah Coley (Level 4 Team). Our Level 5 Team came a commendable 7th. See Results for a full set of scores.

BETH TWEDDLE - Gymnasts in the Young Development Squad had the opportunity to meet Beth Tweddle at Coventry Sports Centre on 19 June 2007. Hannah is pictured with Beth below.
